Custom Imprint

About Us

Custom Imprint was started in 1995, with a single machine, offering Hot Stamp Foil imprinting services for plastic components produced by local Injection Molding and Plastic Extrusion Companies. Some early parts printed include electronic housings, promotional advertising products, nameplates, restroom signs, lawn care products, wire markers, and containers.

Utilizing extensive previous design experience with Plastic Injection Mold Tooling, Part and Special Machine Design, Custom Imprint often consults with customers developing new products to assist in the creation of the most effective part geometry and imprint area location prior to Mold Tooling construction. As the imprint is normally the last operation to complete a plastic part, frequently, little thought is given to the actual execution of the imprint. Even though the imprint area looks to be available, thought must be given to the ability to easily fixture the part for efficient, cost effective imprinting. Often, handling of a part can be more costly than the actual imprint itself.

Shortly after startup, Pad Printing capabilities were added to provide the ability to print on uneven, or non-flat surfaces, which are most often necessary for effective Hot Stamp printing. Further, many more materials can be Pad Printed and in unlimited colors, or multi-color. Unlike Hot Stamping, most misprints can be wiped clean with solvent and reprinted.

Custom Imprint added numerous in house, capability support functions, including fixture design and build, printing plate construction, artwork creation, film processing and PMS™ color matching.

As an imprinting contractor, more printing processes were added to complement existing capabilities and to accommodate new applications and requirements. In addition to Hot Stamping and Pad Printing, Custom Imprint expanded to offer Screen Printing, Heat Transfer Printing, 4 Color Digital Printing and Laser Engraving utilizing more than 30 State of the Art Imprintng Machines .

The original Company vision to provide high quality printing, with dependable delivery and competitive pricing, coupled with Excellent Customer Service remains to this day.

Pad Printing

Pad printing is a printing process that transfers a 2-D image onto a 3-D object. The printing art/image is etched into a plate, a silicone pad then picks up the ink and transfers it onto the object being printed on. The silcone pad allows for a great variety of surface material and irregular shapes to be printable.

Hot Stamping

Hot stamping is a single color, dry print process, in which a hot die presses a foil of dry ink into an object, leaving the ink fused into the object. The print can be depressed into the object this way. Typically used on plastic items with a flat imprint area, or if a depression is desired in the print.

Full Color Digital Printing

Full color digital printing is used for more complex and multicolored prints. Specialized, UV drying ink is used. Sequentual numbering and changeable text, such as serial numbers, can be done this way.

Laser Engraving

Laser Engraving is a versatile "printing" process. It uses a concentrated beam of light to mark the surface of an object. This can be used for simple designs as well as serial numbers, sequential numbers, and other part unique information. It can also be used to cut out custom shapes in certain materials.
